– DAY 12 – Laguna Isla Paicawe – Punta Ahuano Road

Key species Laguna Isla Paicawe:

Hoatzin, Point-tailed Palmcreeper, White-eared Jacamar, Masked Crimson Tanager, Great Potoo, Greater Ani, Purple Gallinule, Solitare Black Cacique, Pale-tailed Barbthroat, Green Kingfisher, White-fronted Nunbird and Scarlet-fronted Nunbird.

Key species Punta Ahuano Road:

Dusky-headed Parakeet, White-lored Antpitta, Lettered Aracari, Ivory-billed Aracari, Blue-and-yellow Macaw, White-fronted Nunbird, White-winged Swallow, Great Kiskadee and Pied Plover.

Breakfast at Wildsumaco and 2 hours drive to Misahualli Port. We take a paddle canoe to birding in Laguna Isla Paicawe.

Lunch box and we drive to Ahuano where we will do birding on a back road that passes the Amazon Rain Forest and some cocoa plantations.

– DAY 13 – Punta Ahuano Road and surrounding areas

Key species:

Black-capped Donacobius, White-vented Euphonia, Green Oropendola, Wire-tailed Manakin, White-throated Toucan, Red-capped Cardinal, Coraya Wren, Ladder-tailed Nightjar, Orange-backed Troupial, Little Woodpecker, Spix’s Guan and Plumbeous Kite.

Today after breakfast we look for new birds in this beautifull Amazon Rainforest and we will take a motorized canoe to get to places.

Dinner and lodging at Misahualli Area Lodge.

– DAY 14 and 15 – Gareno Huaorani Territory

Key species:

Rufous Potoo, Fiery Topaz, Harpy Eagle, Spangled Cotinga, Rusty-belted Tapaculo, Pavonine Quetzal, Yellow-billed Jacamar, White-plummed Antbird, Reddish-winged Bare-eyed, Cinnamon Neopipo, Chestnut-winged Hookbill, Tourqouise Tanager, White-browed Purpletuft, Bare-necked Fruitcrow, Rufous-bellied Euphonia, Golden-heded Manakin, Blue-backed Manakin, Pink-throated Becard, Parker’s Spinetail, Lemon-throated Barbet and more.

In this two days we will do birding in this Huaorani Territory which is the buffer zone of the Yasuni National Park, this area is loaded with amazing birds which can de hard to see elsewhere. .

– DAY 16 – Borja Road and back to Quito

Breakfast and check-out from the lodge. In this last day we head back to Quito but before doing a stop at Borja where we will bird a back road and visit a local hummingbirds feeder with trails.
